AUDREY II / Pod #1

The first plant pod is small and designed with a removable bottom. A puppeteer disguised within a countertop prop operates the puppet to interact with Seymour. Fishing line attached to the leaves allows the prop to droop, and the neck can be extended out to show the pod growing at the end of the scene.

AUDREY II / Pod #2

The second plant pod is constructed attached to a jacket with a fake arm, allowing Seymour to operate the plant mouth as the plant appears to be snapping its' jaws.

AUDREY II / Pod #3

The third plant pod is an entire body suit and head worn by an puppeteer sitting on a plant pot. The body suit contains roots and leaves to disguise the actors legs, and the head is operated by the actors arms for the top and bottom jaws. A tongue piece attaches to the actors neck, allowing it to flop in between the jaws as the actor moves them.

The fourth plant pod is a monster, 2 domed structures for the top and bottom jaws hinged to a wooden horse in the center. It is operated by a strong puppeteer in the center, who controls the bottom jaw (which has a wheel underneath) with one foot and the upper jaw by lifting a bar. The actors who are eaten by Audrey 2 crawl through and out the back through an opening behind the tongue and under the puppeteers legs. Large leaves are attached to the sides and back of the entire rig to disguise the actors behind.

There are also 3 detachable arms that mount to the back of the rig. One is an aluminum hook covered in vines that grabs Audrey and pulls her in, the other 2 are used to enhance the plants size during the finale. Finally, there are 4 foam flower head costumes for Seymour, Mushnik, Audrey and Orin as they appear within the plant branches for the finale.
